All:
1. Annual Science Conference:
- MaViPa holds Science
Conference every year at different places in Maharashtra.
Marathi speaking eminent scientist presides over the conference.
- The conference includes
keynote address, seminars various topics, lectures, exhibitions,
students-scientists meet, etc.
2. Anniversary Day:
- MaViPa was founded on April 24, 1966. This
day is celebrated in the last week of April every year with special
programmes.
3. Solar Energy Workshop:
- A workshops is held to train the people for
assembling a solar cooker and solar water heater.
- Duration: Two days (Saturday
and Sunday).
4. City Farming:
- Training for growing
vegetables and fruits in balcony/terrace with the help of bio-degradable
waste generated in kitchen.
- Duration: 3 hours (Once in a
month - On Sunday).
5. The Book, I liked.........
- This programmes is arranged
on the day of Annual General Meeting.
6. Lectures/Lecture series
- MaViPa organises
lectures/lecture series on various science topics.
- These lectures are conducted
all over Maharashtra through various
Chapters of MaViPa.
7. National Science Days
- National Science Day
(February 28th) is celebrated through different programmes by various
Chapters of MaViPa.
8. Murali Chugani Reference Library:
- A fully computerised library
with a facility for photocopying. The library has a collection of more
than 4,500 Marathi as well as English books which include various
encyclopaedias also.
- Library is accessible to all
the MaViPa members.
- Timings: 1100 AM to 0500 PM.
(except Tuesday).
9. Dr. Rambhau Mhaskar CD Library:
- Library has a collection of
more than 300 CD’s.
- Anybody can become a member
of this library and borrow the CD’s for one week.

- Programme involves different
games and experiments for children.
- Duration: Total 6 hours
spread over 2/3 days.
2. Science Experiment Workshop (Std. 6 to
Std.9)
3. Continuous Science Cell (Std. 6 to Std.9)
4. Science Toys Workshop (Std. 3 to
Std.10):
- Workshop involves making of
toys and learning science behind them.
- Duration: Either one day
(total 6 hours) or two days (total 12 hours)
5. Visit to Vidnyan Bhavan (Std. 6 to
Std.10):
6. Special Science Experiment Worship
(Std. 5 to Std.9):
- The workshop consists of
various short duration experiments followed by relevant discussion.
- Duration: One day (7 hours).
7. SSC Practicals Workshop
- Duration: One day (7 hours)
8. Vidnyan Mitra Course (Std. 7 to
Std.10):
- The course consists of short introduction
to various concepts in science.
- Duration: 7 days (Everyday 5
hours)
9. Concept Development Course (CDC) (Std.
5 to Std. 8)
- The course consists of
detailed introduction to various concepts in science using various means
such as experiments projects, educational visits, lecture and
demonstration by experts, etc.
- Duration: One year (Saturday
and Sunday – for 3 hours)

17. Children Science Conference:
- The conference is held on state-level
(once in 3 years) and Taluka level (every year).
The conference is activity-based and students are required
to present projects.
